The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately €60,000 - €80,000 depending on qualifications and experience.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Bioprocess Optimization Expert to join our Bioprocess Optimization team at the Alicante R&D Center. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the design, development, and optimization of solid-state fermentation processes for microorganisms.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop solid state fermentation processes for microorganisms to achieve high spore concentrations and optimized metabolite concentrations.
  • Implement downstream processes to recover and concentrate high quality, viable spores for various microorganisms.
  • Coordinate and execute experiments with a small team of technicians.
  • Collaborate with researchers from other technical disciplines to achieve project goals.
  • Oversee production of active materials for lab and field testing.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. (or M.Sc. plus suitable experience) in Bioprocess Engineering, Applied Microbiology, or related scientific field.
  • Experience with microbial fermentation (lab scale and/or pilot scale) and bioprocess development.
  • Expertise in engineering principles related to fermentation and bioprocessing.
  • Broad experience in cultivating and physiological characterization of diverse microbes.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and technical writing skills.
