We are seeking an experienced Production Planner who will be responsible for planning the production of a range of animal food products on one or more production lines, ensuring optimum utilization of production and timely availability of products.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills and be able to work with multiple stakeholders, including production management, maintenance, engineering, and product development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Verifying stock positions of commodities and identifying shortfalls in procurement
  • Compiling and releasing daily production orders, material issue vouchers, and other documents for the production department(s) and raw materials warehouse
  • Monitoring the planning and production process, consulting with production management about potential disruptions and possible corrective actions

Job Description:

Production planners are responsible for checking the accuracy of customer orders, verifying inventory levels of finished products, and establishing an optimal balance between customer and stock orders.

They arrange production orders for delivery times, machine capacity, changeover requirements, efficient run sizes, and sequences.

Production planners also calculate the required amounts of raw materials and semi-finished goods, verify stock positions of commodities, and identify shortfalls in procurement.

In addition, they compile and release daily production orders, monitor the planning and production process, and consult with production management about potential disruptions and possible corrective actions.

Other responsibilities include specifying functionality needs and requirements, collaborating with IT to implement changes, and tracking and processing changes in data such as customer specifications, product specifications, manufacturing standards, and machine capacities.
