Water Treatment Operations and Maintenance Specialist

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Operations and Maintenance Specialist to join our team in Madrid.

Mission:

To lead the technical aspects of contract acquisition and execution, with a focus on Operations and Maintenance (OM) related to water treatment facilities, optimizing cost estimations, organizing efficient structures, assessing assets, providing technical support to subsidiaries, offering expertise in water treatment, staying updated on industry advancements and contributing to Saur EUROPE's knowledge base.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle the technical aspects during the bid phase for upcoming Operations and Maintenance (OM), Build-Operate-Own-Transfer (BOOT), and management contracts related to water treatment plants.
  • Cost estimation for OM services.
  • Development of the organizational structure required for contract execution.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to Saur EUROPE DI subsidiaries engaged in OM activities.
  • Offer specialized knowledge and expertise in water treatment topics such as wastewater treatment processes, potable water plants, and the operation of specific equipment.
  • Stay abreast of technological advancements and industry best practices in the field of water treatment.
  • Establish crucial relationships with various departments and experts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a Master's degree in Environmental or Water Chemistry.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the water/wastewater sector.
  • Experience in Operations and Maintenance.
  • Experience in consulting and tendering is valuable.
  • Fluent in English. French or Arabic is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and computer technology.
  • Familiarity with Activated Sludge Modeling (ASM) software like Biowin or equivalent is a plus.
  • Based in Madrid (hybrid model).

  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, operational execution, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to travel.
