Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist to join our Maps team at TomTom International Bv. As a Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in helping us deliver the most up-to-date, accurate, and detailed maps for hundreds of millions of users around the world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collecting and organizing spatial and non-spatial data into a usable format.
  • Assisting in solving business-related problems using data-driven techniques.
  • Working continuously with Python and Spark in the Azure cloud.
  • Learning and applying analytical techniques such as machine learning, deep learning, and text analytics.
  • Identifying patterns in data, as well as spotting trends that can help improve the business's bottom line.
  • Sharing and presenting your data analysis insights to key decision makers to enable them to achieve company strategy.
  • Working in a hybrid and flexible way that will allow you to find the perfect work-life balance.

Requirements:

  • University Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a similar field.
  • 1+ year of experience as a Data Scientist.
  • Exposure to Microsoft cloud computing: Azure & Databricks.
  • Programming experience with Python and SQL.
  • Basic statistical knowledge.
  • Some experience in analyzing large data sets to draw insights.
  • Understanding of creating mathematical models, algorithms, and prediction models using Machine Learning.
  • Basic experience with data visualization (storytelling).
