About the Role

AVL Software and Functions GmbH is seeking a highly skilled Software Sales Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our sales organization, you will be responsible for identifying customer needs and translating them into cost-effective technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and coordinate technical solutions and quotations in response to customer requirements for AVL Simulation & Testing Software.
  • Identify new business opportunities for AVL Software Business Unit.
  • Develop relationships within existing customer base and acquire new customers for AVL Software Business Unit, driving sales and achieving business targets.
  • Make presentations and conduct software demonstrations at customer locations or via online meetings.
  • Establish and maintain effective customer relationships to understand customer needs, promote customer understanding of AVL portfolio, and reach alignments to provide a solution.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Industrial engineering, Electrical or Electronic engineering, Automotive engineering, or other related SW Engineering.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish. German desirable.
  • Self-motivated and capable of setting and executing the strategy to accomplish goals.
  • Excellent relationship management, communication, and negotiation skills – ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • High technical understanding.
  • Sales or sales support experience.
  • Highly customer-focused and able to solve customer-related issues to mutual satisfaction.
  • Planning, prioritizing, and coordinating workload with minimal guidance.
  • Willingness to travel (10%).
  • Commitment and flexibility.
  • Knowledge of automotive industry & its current challenges.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in technical sales preferred.
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of powertrain testing & development (project planning, project work, project management).
  • Prove ability and experience of supporting sales operation teams.
  • Competence in products, applications, markets, and competition in the Spanish industry (related to automotive software business).
  • Experience in CAE Software Sales. Experience with CRM Software sales tools.
