Job Summary

**Job Title:** Machine Operator

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team at Empresa Reconocida. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating conventional, special purpose, and computer numerical control (CNC) machines to fabricate or assemble metallic and nonmetallic materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions and ensure smooth production.
  • Verify conformance of finished workpieces to specifications and quality standards.
  • Load and unload CNC machinery or assembly stations, and pack out finished material into dunnage.
  • Load and unload CMM/Measurement systems, and clean and organize work areas to maintain 5S standards.
  • Move materials around as needed using pallet jacks, carts, etc.
  • Read and understand job aids/work instructions/standard work procedures and policies.
  • Perform required standard work steps within established cycle time, and visually inspect and assemble small components to quality standards.
  • Use hand-held gauges, and use appropriate hold tags to process defective parts through nonconforming material procedure.
  • Safely operate all equipment, and have the ability and willingness to be trained on and perform all machining and assembly operations within established processes and procedures.
  • Perform minor machine preventative care, such as oiling or cleaning machines, dies, or work pieces, or adding coolant to machine reservoirs.
  • Support other departments as needed, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Stand for long periods of time, and lift shoulder-high up to 35 lbs. repetitively.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area in compliance with 5S standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and perform repetitive motion activities including but not limited to loading machines, unloading machines, standing, lifting, loading/unloading carts.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Key Competencies: Safety, Judgement/Decision Making, Teamwork/Interpersonal Skills, Attendance, Attention to detail and accuracy of work, High sense of urgency, Self-starter.
  • Education: High School diploma/GED or basic skills assessment required.
  • Experience: 6 months of manufacturing experience preferred, and experience in fast-paced industrial lean environment.
