Job Title: Health and Safety Professional
Job Summary:
Vall d'Hebron Institute of Research (VHIR) is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Professional to join our team. As a key member of our Occupational/Labour Prevention Unit, you will be responsible for providing technical support in planning and carrying out preventive activities to ensure the health and safety of our workers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement general preventive tasks associated with safety, hygiene, ergonomics, and psychosocial measures.
- Apply prevention plans and programs to the Vall d'Hebron Campus in accordance with the objectives set by the Basic Prevention Unit.
- Carry out risk assessments and periodic control of working conditions to identify areas for improvement and propose preventive measures.
- Support the elaboration, update, and implementation of self-protection plans for VHIR and VHIO centres.
- Collaborate in the implementation, planning, and realization of drills.
- Report on risks detected in terms of safety, hygiene, ergonomics, and/or psychosociology.
- Propose planning of necessary preventive action.
- Advise on training and information plans for staff.
- Review investigations of work accidents to objectify their causes and propose corrective measures.
- Carry out general training and information tasks at all levels related to Occupational Risk Prevention.
- Provide technical assistance for the consultation, communication, and participation of workers.
- Carry out tasks related to the CAE with external companies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in sciences (chemistry) or biosciences (biology, microbiology).
- Higher education in Occupational Risk Prevention (ORP), occupational safety specialties, industrial hygiene, and ergonomics.
- MS Office (Word and Excel) medium-high level.
- Desired: Training in ORP in biomedical research laboratories, Accredited technician in self-protection planning, English language (intermediate), Catalan language (level C1).
- Minimum experience of 2 years in a similar position within biomedical research laboratories.
- Desired: Knowledge of ORP and environmental management systems.
