Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Supervisor to join our pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona. Under the guidance of the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the equipment and all aspects related to preventive and corrective maintenance of all areas of the hotel (pool, common areas, kitchens, rooms, etc.).

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Train Team Members: Ensure safe work practices, efficient operation, proper preventive maintenance, and equipment repair practices among team members.
  • Assist in Reporting: Prepare consumption reports on power, water, steam, and gas, and assist in the preparation of monthly maintenance status reports.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Perform maintenance as necessary, and ensure that maintenance & repairs performed by contractors are executed in accordance with agreed health and safety policy, contracts, fees or charges.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform maintenance and repairs of various types of equipment, such as laundry, kitchen, heating, ventilation, air conditioning equipment, including pumps, motors, fans, water treatment plant, sewage plant, electricity generators, lights, CCTV, telephone, TV, fire and life safety equipment and systems, among others.
  • Team Management: Assist the Engineering Manager in structuring the team's workload to ensure projects are completed on time, and monitor teamwork to ensure deadlines are met and work is completed to an established standard.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, and ensure that all areas of the hotel are well-maintained and in good working order.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Qualification in a variety of engineering/maintenance fields.
  • Experience: +5 years of experience in maintenance (masonry, plumbing and/or electrical repairs, etc.).
  • Skills: Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment, previous experience in hotel/tourist establishments is valuable, and English language skills are highly valuable.
  • Attitude: Positive, proactive, energetic, dynamic, empathetic attitude with the ability to work as a team and passion for service.
