We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team at Liberty Specialty Markets in Madrid, Spain. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to play a key role in ensuring all statutory and taxation compliance requirements within LSM are met.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and assistance with all aspects of the Financial Accounting, Tax, and Treasury functions. Key responsibilities include preparing month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations, processing treasury-related journals, setting up standing orders and manual payments, and preparing VAT documentation files.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including Solvency II, fair treatment of customers, Financial Crime, Data Protection, Conflicts of Interest, and Whistleblowing
- Work closely with the Finance Department in the head office to ensure consistency and develop and maintain across the function, proactively driving the ongoing improvement of business practices and performance
- Prepare and oversee all coinsurance entries required for the accurate closing of the monthly financial results
- Process treaty distribution to translate it to the Spanish regulators, including Collect balances due to/from coinsurers and facultative reinsurers on a timely basis
- Relevant experience within a similar financial accounting role
- Fluent in Spanish and English languages
- Good experience across multiple Finance and Administration tools
- Knowledge of Accounting programs; Cytrix, Sap
