We are seeking an experienced Investment Counselor to join our team in the Emerging Markets region. As a key member of our Private Bankers and Product specialists, you will provide investment services to ultra-high net worth clients and family offices with EEA touch points.
The role involves advising clients on portfolios, asset allocation, capital markets solutions, money markets, and alternatives, including Private Equity and Hedge Funds. You will work closely with our trading, product, risk & compliance partners to deliver agreed sales goals within the overall framework of the CPB business strategy and operating model.
Key Responsibilities:- Establish and grow investment relationships with ultra-high net worth clients (AUM of $25MM or more with Citi Private Bank).
- Implement and oversee investment solutions, providing advice and guidance on markets and actionable investment ideas.
- Cultivate trusting relationships with existing ultra-high net worth clients and support bringing in new clients/investment relationships.
- Collaborate and leverage a wide array of internal partners.
- Combine in-depth knowledge of traditional and alternative investments with wealth planning and private banking services to optimize client service and cross-marketing opportunities.
- Engage and advise clients on brokerage activity and execute trades seamlessly.
- Assess risk in business decisions, ensuring compliance with laws, rules, regulations, and internal policies.
Exposure to all areas of Citi Private Bank and Global Wealth Management business across Europe, with opportunities for advancement into senior producer or team leader roles, or lateral moves to banking positions.

- Team player with ability to work individually under stress in volatile market conditions.
- High level of professionalism and strong personal integrity.
- Competence in Bloomberg, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong creative and interpersonal skills coupled with an entrepreneurial spirit and selling skills.
- Broad base of execution skills.
- Advanced judgment and ability to conduct in-depth analysis to solve problems and develop innovative solutions.
- Experience in the financial industry, preferably in a trading or advisory role.
- Investment, banking, and either portfolio management or trading experience.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with clients and across hierarchical levels.
- Ability to challenge the status quo and optimize processes in own area of responsibility.
Postgraduate Degree or equivalent preferred; exceptional candidates with relevant experience will be considered.
