About the Role


A challenging opportunity has arisen within Amazon Web Services (AWS) to join our Network Products Development team as a Network Engineering Specialist. This role will play a pivotal part in designing, developing, and implementing next-generation networking platforms for our world-class data centers.

Responsibilities


Develop and implement comprehensive validation plans tailored to specific hardware designsCollaborate with design and production teams to ensure thorough understanding and testing against product requirementsAnalyze and interpret data from validation tests, offering valuable insights and recommendationsDesign and document validation processes, findings, and insights in a structured and clear mannerComponent specification study and component validationOversee and plan the use of validation equipment to guarantee consistent resultsWork cross-functionally to troubleshoot and address any hardware issues identified during validationSecond source qualification, cost-down design validation, and manufacturing efficienciesSupport new product introduction and sustaining engineeringDevelop and contribute to testing automationA day in the lifeAs part of our team, you'll have the unique opportunity to understand the growing AWS network and internal customers' requirements on interconnect solutions. You'll work backwards to devise hardware solutions by influencing the broad industry and/or develop software tools with sister teams to maintain a highly available network that delights AWS customers. You'll design and implement processes and mechanisms that help the team deliver business impact to the organization while raising the bar on operational excellence.

Key Requirements


- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering
- 5+ years experience in hardware design and validation of components, subsystems, and systems
- Experience performing PCB schematic and layout reviews to ensure specification compliance
- Knowledge of Power and thermal design and validation
- Experience performing hardware validation, including high-speed I/O, low-speed I/O, voltage regulator, and evaluating results
- Master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- Experience with building datacenter networking products
- Experience with test strategy design for automated functional and system testing
- Experience using scripting languages, such as Python
- Understanding of electrical engineering design principles, transmission-line theory, SI/PI analysis, PCB PDN design, and high-speed circuit designs
- Experience using high-speed Logic Analyzers and Oscilloscopes, TDR/VNAs, Power Meters, etc
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production

Estimated Salary Range


$145,000 - $175,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
