About the Role

Skydance Animation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Director to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for developing and supporting innovative tools for our artists to efficiently create high-quality animated films.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with artists and production management to design and implement tools and processes for feature film production.
  • Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day technical issues and provide support to artists.
  • Report on the status of technical development projects, tool performance, and production operations.
  • Stay up-to-date with current artistic methodologies and technology trends to identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide guidance and instruction to junior team members to support their growth and development.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in the VFX or animation industry.
  • 3+ years of experience in the animation industry.
  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • Deep understanding of 3D animated film production pipelines and workflows.
  • Expertise in Python and experience building tools for Maya, Houdini, and Nuke.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and Renderman and Arnold is a plus.
