About the Role

The Senior Middle Office Analyst will be responsible for monitoring and interpreting measures of economic performance and market risks related to Repsol's European Natural Gas and LNG trading activities. This role requires a solid background in physical and financial gas and power trading, as well as a proactive and analytical individual with high capabilities and a hands-on personality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generating timely and accurate daily and end-of-month P&L along with market risk exposure reports.
  • Executing trade controls and engaging with traders on market risk and valuation changes of physical and derivatives trading positions.
  • Reviewing contracts and engaging with traders to ensure accurate risk capture/valuation of trades in an ETRM system.
  • Defining new valuation methodologies and/or improving the current ones.
  • Supporting the implementation of new and modified methodologies in Repsol's systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an analytical and numerical subject, preferably in Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, or Business.
  • 5+ years of experience in an energy-commodities trading environment.
  • Excellent ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize information.
  • Technical understanding and the ability to design, develop, and maintain analysis and simulation tools.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and data analysis skills, with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of ETRM systems and previous experience with quantitative risk tools.
