Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Portuguese Localization QA Tester to join our team at Welocalize in Austin, Texas.

This is a unique opportunity for those who enjoy a combination of linguistic and technical work. As a Localization QA Tester, you will conduct test cases, identify localization bugs, and report them via an internal bug tracking system.

The ideal candidate will possess strong linguistic skills, including native-level fluency in Portuguese and fluency in English. You will also have experience working in translation, tech savvy, and able to prioritize linguistic issues.

We offer a competitive hourly flat rate of $28 and a range of benefits, including accident insurance, critical illness insurance, and paid holiday time.

To be eligible for this role, you must have a valid visa to work in the US and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements:
  • Native-level fluency in Portuguese (grammar, vocabulary, composition, punctuation)
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • Experience working in translation
  • Tech savvy, with experience testing web-based systems and applications on Mac OS X and iOS
  • Ability to prioritize linguistic issues and distinguish between a true must-fix and a nice-to-have
  • Experience working with test cases and test scripts
  • Ability to clearly articulate reproduction steps for a given issue and communicate critical information
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
