About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Solar Project Engineer to join our team at Sin Nombre. As a key member of our international solar engineering team, you will play a crucial role in developing and optimizing the design of our ground-mounted solar PV projects in Spain and Portugal.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct technical evaluations of sites through site visits and investigations
- Evaluate new technologies and select suitable options for our projects
- Produce design drawings for Solar PV and hybrid solar PV + storage systems
- Select and process solar irradiation and albedo datasets
- Estimate energy yield and analyze uncertainty
- Perform preliminary electrical system sizing calculations and produce concept electrical single line diagrams
- Produce preliminary Bills of Quantities and technical specifications for construction procurement
- Contribute to technical expert working groups and associated toolkit development
- Coordinate with external consultants and contractors to optimize PV system design
Requirements
- Master's degree in electrical, electro-mechanical, mechanical, industrial, energy engineering, physics, or a relevant technical discipline
- At least 3 years' experience designing ground-mounted solar PV plants
- Advanced user of AutoCAD, PVSyst, PVCASE, and at least one utility-scale, specialist PV design software package
- Fluent in Spanish and English; fluency in Portuguese is a plus
- Experience in solar project procurement, construction, commissioning, or operation
- Knowledge of relevant Spanish design codes, regulations, and policy
- Curious mind and innovation seeker related to solar system design and continuous improvement initiatives
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
