About the Role

Rapita Systems is seeking a highly skilled and motivated engineer to play a key part in the research, design, and delivery of innovative solutions for the timing analysis and optimization of advanced Multi-Processor Systems on Chip (MPSoC) for the avionics industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform multicore processor performance analysis and configuration to provide sustained performance and real-time predictability.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks by analysis of technical reference material and experimentation.
  • Develop hardware-configuration and software countermeasures and mitigations to reduce timing variability and unpredictability.
  • Integrate software tools in embedded systems in both bare-metal and real-time operating systems/hypervisors setups.
  • Conduct research and development of cutting-edge technologies to support safety-critical real-time multicore embedded systems.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in computer architecture, computer science, real-time systems, electronics, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge and interest in computer architectures.
  • Experience working with multicore processors, including their architectural features.
  • Experience in the development and/or verification of HW IPs in the context of SoCs.
  • Proactive and collaborative attitude, with a willingness to learn and contribute to a fast-paced team.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience with avionics standards like DO-178C or DO-254 and related knowledge.
  • Software development skills, with a particular emphasis on embedded systems.
  • Skills in assembly, C, Python, or other programming languages.
  • Experience with real-time operating systems such as Integrity, VxWorks, Deos, and/or hypervisors.
  • Skills in Linux or other Unix-like OS.
