About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional User Experience (UX) Designer to join our team at Canonical, the company behind the popular open-source operating system Ubuntu. As a UX Designer, you will play a vital role in shaping the user experience of our products, including tools that enable everyone to build their own cloud experiences and the Developer Experience on the Ubuntu Desktop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design clear, stylish, and intuitive user interfaces that meet industry best practices and push the limits of what is possible.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and executives, to ensure seamless product development.
  • Conduct user research and analysis to inform design decisions and drive product innovation.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of user needs, behaviors, and motivations to create user-centered design solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest design research, trends, and innovations to continuously improve design practices and products.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in User Experience, Design, or a related field.
  • Excellent academic results and a strong portfolio of UX design work.
  • Knowledge and passion for user experience, technology, and design.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and improvement, with a curious and flexible mindset.
  • Drive to deliver high-quality work and celebrate success.
  • Confidence in user research practices and the ability to communicate design positions clearly and precisely.
