Genetic Breeder

KWS Saat SE is seeking a skilled Breeding Technician to join our team in Almería, Spain. This full-time, indefinite position is focused on genetic improvement of peppers, with a key role in supervising trials and managing the field team. • Crop Development: Manage and supervise the pepper genetic improvement program, ensuring long-term success and profitability.
• Team Management: Plan, organize, and coordinate the daily work of assigned personnel, maximizing efficiency and ensuring optimal resource utilization within budget.
• Improvement Trials: Conduct sowing, planting, harvesting, and evaluation of hybrids in collaboration with the field team, ensuring proper execution of crosses and collection of data.
• Seed Logistics: Manage seed production, storage, and disposal, ensuring compliance with quality and phytosanitary standards.
• Tissue Sampling: Collect plant tissue samples for DNA testing and disease diagnosis, adhering to established technical standards.
• Data Management: Record, manage, and analyze phenotypic data and trial results in databases, contributing to decision-making for genetic improvement.
• Communication: Maintain fluid communication with internal teams (field, pathology, technicians) and external partners (temporary staff, suppliers), ensuring standardization of good practices and alignment in program execution.

• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role in the agricultural sector.
• Knowledge in agronomy, horticulture, and plant pathology.
• Organizational skills and experience in personnel management.
• Basic computer skills applied to data management and processes.
