Job Title: Grid Connection Specialist

Galileo Green Energy GmbH is seeking a highly skilled Grid Connection Specialist to join our team in Madrid, Spain. As a key member of our European Grid function, you will play a crucial role in securing and optimizing grid connections for our growing pipeline of solar PV, BESS, and wind projects in Spain.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support and advise our Spanish business development team on grid connection requests and exchanges with the DSO and TSO.
  • Conduct grid connection feasibility assessments for renewable energy projects and design and oversee the construction of interconnection infrastructure.
  • Take a portfolio perspective, track, and prioritize grid-related activities across the portfolio to deliver lowest Grid Capex, LCOE, and accelerated connections.
  • Form strong working relationships with project functions and development partners to ensure that grid connection considerations and technical aspects are understood and optimized.
  • Enable hybrid/storage project connections and stay on top of technological and regulatory developments in this area.
  • Identify and manage external technical experts to participate in due diligence, capex/opex estimations, engineering studies, and engagement with grid connection providers.
Requirements:
  • Fluency in Spanish and English is a must-have, with additional European languages such as Italian being valuable.
  • Master's degree or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and power systems.
  • Up to 3 years' relevant experience in power systems, grid connections in Spain, ideally within Spanish DSO/TSO and/or a renewable energy project developer.
  • Knowledge of the IEC, European, and Spanish electrical codes and requirements for connecting power plants to the electrical grid as well as connection studies.
  • Clear, logical, and helpful communication style with an ability to dig into the detail as well as step-back and communicate the bigger picture pragmatically and succinctly.
  • Commercial and strategic mind with the ability to look beyond the technical right answer to take into account wider considerations.
