Satellite Systems Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
– Engage in satellite formation flying, rendezvous operations, in-orbit servicing (IOS), and active debris removal (ADR).
– Contribute to entry, descent, and landing missions on various celestial bodies, including Earth and Mars.
– Participate in the development and analysis of launch vehicles.
– Support Earth observation initiatives, encompassing both upstream (flight segment) and downstream activities.
– Involve in interplanetary exploration and navigation projects.
– Work with unmanned autonomous vehicles (UAVs, UGVs).
– Assist in system and mission design processes.
Responsibilities Include:
· Design, implement, and validate DVF systems.
· Provide support for AOCS test campaigns related to DVF.
· Assist in the procurement of harnesses and hardware pertinent to the AOCS subsystem.
· Conduct analysis and documentation to aid in defining avionics architecture.
· Support assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) activities.
Involvement May Include:
· Specification and validation of AOCS subsystem solutions.
· Conduct analysis and trade-offs of hardware solutions.
· Collaborate with the overall system team.
Educational Background:
A recognized engineering degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Electronic, or a related field (e.g., Physics, Mathematics).
Professional Experience:
Experience as a Functional Avionics Engineer or in AIT roles, with 2-5 years in the Aerospace sector, demonstrating a solid technical foundation.
This position will be tailored to match the level of experience, with additional industrial experience viewed favorably.
Technical Expertise Required:
The following skills are essential for this role:
· Familiarity with verification and validation (V&V) campaigns for Earth Observation satellites and/or launch vehicles.
· Practical experience in the aeronautical/aerospace sector, particularly in Functional Avionics (experience in ESA/European programs is advantageous).
· Ability to comprehend new concepts and apply them to engineering challenges.
· Familiarity with PIL/HIL testing campaigns.
· Understanding of the PUS concept and ability to work under ECSS standards.
· Experience with EGSE and testing environments during C/D satellite project phases.
· Proficient programming skills.
· Knowledge of C/C++, Matlab/Simulink, and AOCS.
· Some experience in hardware AIT/AIV (or a general interest in hardware), involvement in the V&V cycle, and familiarity with Real-Time Environments (e.g., dSpace, Speedgoat) are beneficial.
Language Proficiency:
High proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
