Project Safety Assurance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Safety Assurance Manager to join our team in Madrid. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our projects and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Your primary focus will be on managing and performing safety assurance activities, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and providing technical expertise and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate all safety assurance activities on the project
- Define safety plans and manage safety workload and associated planning
- Perform safety analysis, manage hazard logs, review design, V&V, T&C activities from a safety perspective
- Build safety reports and safety cases
- Apply safety assurance methodologies (risk acceptance criteria, safety analysis, verification and validation) defined for the project
- Defend safety case argumentations in front of internal and external assessors; define and follow-up action plans to close findings
- Manage safety assurance engineers involved on the project
We value passion and attitude over experience. To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Engineering degree
- >5 years of experience in safety signalling projects (IXL and/or ERTMS track and/or ERTMS ONB and/or CBTC solutions)
- English and Spanish at a fluent level is mandatory
- Relevant experience in safety assurance in connected railway signalling safety projects
- Successful experience in working in a multi-site, multi-cultural environment
- Working knowledge of safety methods: safety plan, preliminary hazard analysis, failure modes and effects critical analysis, fault tree analysis, interface hazard analysis, operation & support hazard analysis, safety-related item list, hazard log, V&V safety report, and safety case
