Our team is working closely with internal and external game development studios to create engaging mobile-first games for a wide audience.
**Game Development**
Modern games are not limited to mobile devices alone. They often rely on backend platforms to enable interactive systems and features such as matchmaking, leaderboards, live events, season passes, and more. As a member of our central Tech function, you will work with multiple studios to build gameplay systems that engage players, track their progress, and create features like stores, crafting, inventories, and many more.
**Your Role**
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Game Backend Developer to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:
- Sharing your expertise in game backends with multiple development teams to empower them to build compelling game features.
- Developing game architectures using PlayFab or similar platforms, AWS or Azure resources to ensure seamless integration and performance.
- Constructing gameplay systems and features like leaderboards, live events, season pass, level progression, crafting, shops, and in-app purchases.
- Implementing robust backend validation mechanisms to safeguard game logic and prevent cheating or exploits.
- Crafting detailed technical specifications, design documents, and collaborating with designers to ensure technical feasibility.
- Contributing clean, maintainable client-side and backend code, utilizing Unity and PlayFab Blueprints.
- Planning, researching, and architecting new services based on stakeholder priorities.
- Mentoring team members, conducting technical interviews, and taking ownership of specific gameplay systems and features.
**Requirements**
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 5+ years of experience in gaming software engineering, specializing in PlayFab and related frameworks.
- Expertise in PlayFab or similar game management platforms.
- Experience with Azure functions, SignalR, Redis, AWS, DataDog, Kibana, Jenkins, GitHub actions is a big plus.
- Proven experience with serverless game backend architecture.
- Familiarity with Unity development and testing automation frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to lead feature development from inception to completion, including requirements gathering, design documentation, implementation, testing, and monitoring.
- Exceptional organizational, follow-through, and quality-assurance skills.
- A positive, collaborative, and professional demeanor.
- Bonus experience in multiplayer game development, including dedicated servers, replication, and client prediction.
