About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to join our Amazon Kids team in Madrid. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining software features for our kids' products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software features for our kids' products, including mobile applications and web services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and quality assurance, to ensure that our software meets the highest standards of quality and usability.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to ensure that our codebase is maintainable, efficient, and scalable.
  • Identify and prioritize technical issues and develop solutions to resolve them.
  • Work with leadership to define the technical vision and strategy for our team and contribute to the development of our team's culture and values.

About the Team

Amazon Kids+ brings together a wide range of content that kids and parents love, including books, movies, TV shows, educational apps, and games. Our team is responsible for designing and building software features that make it easy for kids to access and enjoy this content, while also providing parents with the tools they need to ensure their child's safety and well-being.

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in professional software development, with a focus on design and architecture.
  • Experience with at least one software programming language, including Java, Python, or C++.
  • Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Experience with iOS frameworks and Apple's design guidelines, as well as Android frameworks and Google's design guidelines.
  • Knowledge of push notifications and client-server integrations.
