We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center IT Specialist to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Data Center Operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Install and Configure Infrastructure: Install and configure racks of hosts in line with internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and Repair Issues: Diagnose and repair issues for server, storage, and network devices, including the physical replacement of parts, to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
- Remediation and Recovery: Remediate or recover physical power issues on racks and participate in Data Center power and cooling events to ensure the reliability and availability of our infrastructure.
- Shift Work and Physical Demands: Work a shift schedule (4 days on and 4 days off, including night shifts on a rotational basis) and possess the physical ability to lift and rack equipment using our lifting equipment.
- Travel Requirements: Possess a valid driver's license and own vehicle to travel between sites.
- Computer Hardware and Networking Experience: 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience and 1+ years of computer networking experience.
- Education and Qualifications: High school or equivalent diploma.
- Customer-Facing Experience: Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
