About the Role:

CBRE Investment Accounting & Reporting Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team. As a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the day-to-day fund level accounting, consolidation, and financial reporting functions for Luxembourg real estate funds.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, and various other accounting statements) in accordance with IFRS and Lux GAAP.
  • Reporting and Coordination: Prepare and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, including covenant management and quarterly VAT package and CIT/MBT/NWT/WHT returns.
  • Bank Reconciliations and Cash Management: Perform bank reconciliations, daily cash management, and bi-weekly cash flow forecasts.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain a complete and accurate general ledger.
  • Portfolio Financial Data: Aggregate financial data on Portfolio level.
  • Audit and Compliance: Coordinate the independent audit, prepare files for audit and SOC requirements, and answer any outstanding questions.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial input for quarterly Board meetings and attend as well.
  • Client and Investor Reporting: Create and complete financial and management reports for clients/investors and other interested parties.
  • Contract and Agreement Review: Read and interpret contracts, legal documents, and other agreements, and record complex business transactions in the general ledger.
  • Reporting Process Coordination: Coordinate the reporting process across various functions, funds, and geographies to ensure timely and well-organized completion of reporting process.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Periodic report to the regulator (CSSF / DNB / AIFMD).
  • Investor Capital Management: Coordinate and execute investors' capital contributions, redemptions, and distributions.
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Assist with ad hoc project and Group initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Education: Graduated from higher vocational training (Bachelor) or university (Master) specializing in finance, such as business economics or accountancy, preferred CPA/ACCA/CA or equivalent.
  • Experience: Experience with preparation of periodic and annual financial reports and annual audit processes.
  • Consolidation and Tax Knowledge: Practical experience with consolidation and tax returns, in particular VAT and income tax (preferable Luxembourg VAT and CIT/MBT/NWT/NWT).
  • Laws and Regulations: Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, such as IFRS and Lux GAAP.
  • Certifications: Certified Accountant qualifications in relevant jurisdictions.
  • Language: Fluent in English, both verbal and in writing (whereas knowledge of any other language can be an advantage).
  • Financial Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), IFRS, INREV.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Able to forecast and prepare budgets.
