Your Role
We are seeking a knowledgeable professional to oversee the flood models that drive EarthScan, our platform designed to provide critical insights into climate risks for investment and reporting purposes. Your expertise in coastal and riverine flood models will be vital in assisting our clients to comprehend the implications of climate change on their assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Assume technical leadership of Mitiga's flood models, working closely with product and scientific teams to outline the development strategy for our flood-related offerings.
- Direct efforts to enhance and validate our proprietary flood models.
- Explore and assess third-party datasets that could enrich our current capabilities, particularly regarding pluvial flooding.
- Facilitate the technical integration of external datasets into our existing technology framework.
- Provide guidance to our Impact team on effectively incorporating flood risk into our evaluations and impact assessments.
- Serve as the primary expert on flooding inquiries, both internally and for our clients.
Qualifications
We are looking for a Flood Risk Analyst with a robust technical foundation to join our innovative team.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in the industry applying flood modelling and risk assessment techniques.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of flood modelling principles and their application in risk assessments is essential.
- Understanding of Climate Change Impact: Familiarity with how climate change influences flood risk is desirable.
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in delivering flood risk analyses that provide clear and actionable insights to clients.
- Hands-on Participation: Willingness to engage actively in the modelling process alongside our collaborative team.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities to leverage data effectively for informed decision-making.
- Communication Skills: Excellent ability to convey complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Problem-Solving: Capacity to navigate ambiguous project requirements and devise effective solutions.
