Your responsibilities will include executing discipline-specific tasks and deliverables for projects, adhering to relevant guidelines and specific customer requirements. You will work closely with various teams, including project management and engineering, to define load cases based on applicable standards, considering both static and cyclic loads, as well as boundary conditions.

Specifically, you will be responsible for executing calculation discipline tasks and generating associated deliverables in alignment with QCD commitments. This includes creating meshed models from CATIA 3D designs, utilizing 1D, 2D, or 3D finite elements with Hypermesh software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting Finite Element Analysis using Hyperworks software.
  • Evaluating calculated deformations, stresses, and vibration modes.
  • Proposing design enhancements for analyzed components.
  • Establishing gauge positions for strain gauge testing on full-scale components.
  • Preparing and documenting calculation discipline reports and notes that detail FEA findings, in accordance with project timelines while addressing key open actions.
  • Performing correlation analysis with test outcomes.
  • Compiling and documenting Mechanical Domain Design Reviews.
  • Updating Calculation Notes in response to Change Requests.
  • Ensuring compliance with QCD commitments and providing updates on calculation discipline progress, alerting relevant stakeholders of any issues that may affect QCD objectives.
  • Applying discipline-specific rules, processes, and tools to guarantee the quality of calculation deliverables and their acceptance by internal customers within agreed timelines.
  • Managing external calculation discipline FEA engineers on projects.
  • Preparing quotations for engineering work packages as needed.
  • Defining Project Mechanical Decomposition (PBS).
  • Supporting sourcing, industrialization, and manufacturing teams during production ramp-up.
  • Collaborating with MDL for ongoing improvements within the domain (including RoE).

About You

We prioritize enthusiasm and attitude over extensive experience. While we do not expect you to possess every skill, the following qualifications will enhance your success and growth in this position:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in Mechanical Engineering, preferably in railway products, with a minimum of 2 years.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including engagement with third parties.
  • Proficient time management and reporting abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Organized and structured approach with a hands-on mentality.
  • Proficient in English for reading, writing, and technical discussions.
  • Proven experience in Finite Element Analysis for over 2 years.
  • Familiarity with Altair Hyperworks software (Hypermesh, Hyperview, Hypergraph, etc.) for at least one year.
  • Experience with the OptiStruct solver for over one year.
