Key Responsibilities:
Field Operations:
- Execute outage and related activities for the training, preparation, execution, and closure of outage projects, including various tasks.
- Conduct non-outage related activities such as refurbishment or repair of customer or Westinghouse equipment, component upgrades, or troubleshooting at customer and Westinghouse locations.
- Complete all assigned tasks under general supervision, ensuring a high level of quality and adherence to established procedures and guidelines. Maintain meticulous attention to detail and document all quality-related issues.
- Foster, promote, and utilize team-building skills with colleagues, supervisors, contractors, customers, and other departments within Westinghouse.
- Exhibit strong customer sensitivity and service skills.
- Develop and maintain a focus on innovative problem-solving.
- This role necessitates extensive travel, maintenance of "Unescorted Access" status, adherence to the "fitness for duty" program, and working with hazardous materials.
Training:
- Engage in performance-based training programs to obtain qualifications and certifications, as well as stay current with technological advancements.
- Participate in formal training to broaden knowledge areas, skills, and expertise.
- Take part in on-the-job training in the field.
- Engage in safety training to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to work in hazardous environments and operate safety equipment and systems.
- Learn, understand, and apply Human Performance Tools, INPO Principles, Industrial Health & Safety, and ALARA principles, as well as specific security requirements and the importance of adhering to both Westinghouse and customer license requirements.
- Contribute to safety observations.
- Acquire, comprehend, and implement Nuclear Culture Safety requirements.
Leadership:
- Demonstrate the capability to perform assigned job tasks independently.
- Travel, access power plants, and interact with customers autonomously.
- Oversee assigned projects and small teams with defined goals, showcasing leadership abilities.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary degree/certificate or equivalent experience preferred.
3-5 years of nuclear experience preferred.
General understanding of nuclear power plant operations, maintenance, and outage processes.
Specific knowledge and training in electrical, electronic, or mechanical systems, along with required curriculum knowledge of mathematics.
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems, processes, and procedures.
Practitioner in a designated qualification or certification program.
