Head Greenkeeper

Empordà Golf Club, a prestigious golf resort located in the Empordà region of Costa Brava, is seeking an experienced Head Greenkeeper to join its team. As a key member of the golf course maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation of the golf courses, hotel, and surrounding areas.

• Supervise and coordinate all activities related to the maintenance of the golf course, including greens, fairways, tees, roughs, and bunkers.
• Plan and execute fertilization, irrigation, mowing, pest, and disease control programs to ensure optimal quality of playing surfaces.
• Manage and develop the maintenance team, providing training, support, and performance evaluations.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of field equipment and machinery.
• Develop and manage the maintenance budget, optimizing resources and controlling costs.
• Collaborate closely with the golf coordination team, property management, and other departments to ensure member and visitor satisfaction.
• Stay up to date with best practices and technologies in the golf industry, implementing innovations where appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and environmental regulations.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Head Greenkeeper or in a similar position.
• Deep knowledge of agronomy, horticulture, turf management, and golf course maintenance machinery.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and solve problems efficiently.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Flexibility to work variable hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Certification in Greenkeeping or an equivalent qualification is highly desired.
• Knowledge of automated irrigation systems and the handling of phytosanitary products.

Spanish and English are essential. Knowledge of other languages is a plus.
