Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Category Manager to join our team at Submer. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Category Strategy Development: Develop and implement category strategies aligned with the company's overall business goals, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Procurement Process Management: Ensure adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements, developing KPIs to measure the effectiveness of category strategy and activities.
  • Market Analysis and Benchmarking: Conduct market research and benchmarking to identify industry trends, potential suppliers, and competitive pricing, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Procurement Operations: Manage a network of reliable suppliers, overseeing the onboarding process, contract negotiations, compliance checks, and performance evaluations.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with the supply chain, developing contingency plans to address potential disruptions.
  • Supplier Relationship and Performance Management: Select, visit, manage, and evaluate suppliers in coordination with Product Engineering & Quality, ensuring a desired level of service and capacity.
  • Category Enablement and Maintenance: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure the timely delivery of goods and services, participating in full-cycle purchasing project management.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is a plus.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in procurement and category management, preferably in a technology startup or fast-paced environment.
  • Skills: Proven track record of setting up and managing suppliers and categories from scratch, international experience, and a strong understanding of supply chain risks and mitigation strategies.
