About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled System Engineer - Hybrid Locomotive Propulsion Systems to join our engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the design, specification, and technical clarification of the traction system for our hybrid-electric locomotives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and specify the traction system, including the transformer, converter, traction motor, auxiliaries, and traction battery, for our hybrid-electric locomotives.
- Implement customer requirements and design components as part of a team.
- Focus on components and system integration required for alternative propulsion, such as traction batteries and converters.
- Manage technical interfaces, including electric drive technology, operation management, and control, as well as mechanical integration.
- Participate in all relevant phases of the project, from concept to bid preparation, technical implementation, testing, delivery, and warranty.
- Monitor market requirements and trends to guide our suppliers during the development of our drive components.
- Ensure the reusability of your work results to foster our platform strategy.
- Track costs and deadlines individually for your fields of activity.
- Support testing of components in the lab and on the vehicle.
- Support the homologation process and drive root cause analysis (RCA) in case of failure.
Requirements
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced engineer with a strong background in electrical engineering and traction systems. You should have excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
