Job SummaryWe're seeking a seasoned Senior-Level Backend Engineer with a strong background in Python development to join our dynamic engineering team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for designing, building, and enhancing our web applications and data processing pipelines.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Development: Design, build, and enhance Datamaran web applications and data processing pipelines using Python and FastAPI.
- Mentorship: Mentor developers on backend development best practices and industry-standard engineering practices.
- Deployment and Maintenance: Debug, deploy, and maintain large-scale applications, from APIs to process pipelines.
- Feature Development: Consider tradeoffs when designing and implementing features in backend systems.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Frontend developers, Product managers, and other roles engineers in the Agile team to develop and implement new features.
- Staying Up-to-Date: Stay informed of the latest industry standards and technologies, actively applying these to improve our products.
- Product Discovery: Contribute to product discovery phases, bringing invaluable insights regarding user needs and potential solutions.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in backend development.
- Technical Skills: Master Python, including common API frameworks (e.g., FastAPI) and libraries (e.g., pandas). Familiarity with AWS environment, as well as Unix/Linux.
- Soft Skills: Good understanding of development best practices, such as SOLID, testing, CI/CD. English fluency is essential.
- Frontend Experience: Some experience working in the frontend area and willingness to participate in frontend work when required.
- Machine Learning: Proven experience with Machine Learning tools in Python (pandas, spacy, langchain, etc).
- Architecture: Knowledge of architecture concepts like MVC, CQRS, and DDD.
- Database Experience: Experience with relational databases, as well as MongoDB and/or ElasticSearch.
