Experienced Software Engineer for Travel Technology

Your Daily Responsibilities:
Planning, researching, or outlining an upcoming project that you will oversee. Guiding fellow team members, either through collaborative programming or asynchronously via communication tools. Writing, reviewing, and refining code. Exploring new technical concepts, services, or features that can benefit our team. While Hopper maintains a low-meeting culture (no one has more than 10 hours of meetings scheduled at the start of a week, including managers), we value regular discussions to review ongoing projects and plan future work.Ideal Candidate Profile:
Proficient in full-stack development, with a strong focus on backend capabilities. Skilled in Scala or other JVM languages (such as Java), with proven experience in a production environment. Strong grasp of system architecture, emphasizing the design of scalable and maintainable solutions. Knowledgeable in various service communication methods, including gRPC, pub/sub, and REST. Familiar with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and best practices for cloud-native development. Experienced in deploying infrastructure using Terraform or similar tools. Proven ability to lead and deliver complex, multi-month projects from conception to production. Dedicated to improving system quality and reliability, demonstrating excellence in software engineering practices.
