Job Title: ICT Senior Assistant - Cyber Security

UNOPS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced ICT Senior Assistant - Cyber Security to join our team in Valencia, Spain. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert-level support in cyber security, threat management, and incident response.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform continuous monitoring and revision of security events to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Support in analyzing alerts and correlating events from multiple data sources and tools to identify security incidents.
  • Participate in threat hunting campaigns to proactively search for anomalies and evidence of compromise across the Secretariat.
  • Develop and fine-tune detection rules, aligning use cases with business and organizational requirements.
  • Support in developing advanced detection and mitigation strategies against persistent threats and threat actors.
  • Participate in the Secretariat's global incident response team and respond to information security incidents.
  • Assist in the coordination of escalation, response, and remediation efforts, liaising with local IT focal points and operational teams.
  • Contribute to the formulation of policy and other supporting documents, including procedures and guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of practical experience in information security and/or incident response and threat management.
  • Experience as a SOC analyst and/or demonstrable knowledge in SIEM products and technologies.
  • Experience in Cyberthreat Intelligence, Incident Response, and Threat Hunting.
  • Experience in general-purpose scripting languages, such as Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
  • Fluency in English (read, write, speak) is required.
