Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our team at SENER. As a key member of our offshore wind team, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering engineering services for offshore wind projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Geotechnical Site Survey Planning: Develop and implement planning and specifications for offshore geotechnical site surveys.
  2. Geotechnical Discipline Management: Manage the geotechnical discipline within projects, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.
  3. Client Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact with clients, responsible for preparing deliverables within the expected timeline, budget, and quality.
  4. Project Coordination: Coordinate project developments in the bid and execution phases, ensuring seamless collaboration with stakeholders.
  5. Documentation and Support: Prepare and coordinate documentation to participate in offshore wind auctions and development phases, and provide support for future project developments.
  6. People Management: Potentially lead a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and project delivery.
  7. Technical Development: Contribute to the technical development of our offshore wind projects, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
  8. Project Meetings and Reporting: Document project results, attend and conduct project meetings with clients, and ensure key interfaces, risks, and actions are tracked and managed.
  9. Risk Management: Understand, quantify, and articulate project delivery risk to enable informed business decisions.
  10. Knowledge Transfer: Ensure knowledge transfer between projects, maintaining a high level of expertise and best practices.
  11. Design Review and Verification: Review and verify design documentation related to geotechnical studies, foundations, cable buried assessment, and onshore-offshore transitions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. 10+ years of experience in offshore projects, with at least 5 years in offshore wind energy, and a deep understanding of offshore geotechnical design matters.
  2. Master's degree or PhD in civil engineering, preferably with a focus on geotechnical engineering.
  3. Strong technical background in offshore wind projects, including numerical modeling and seismic design.
  4. Programming skills in Matlab or Python, and experience with API, DNV, and ISO standards for foundation design.
  5. Fluent in Spanish and English, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
