Job Summary

The successful candidate will be a key member of our Space Segment Engineering Team under the Technical Direction. The main tasks will be supporting the definition, design, development, and oversight of a telecommunications satellite program in the area of Repeaters and Antennas (Payload).

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the definition, design, and development of telecommunications systems based on satellite technology.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of payload systems.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
  • Provide technical expertise to support payload system testing and validation.
  • Work closely with the Technical Direction to ensure alignment with program goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Programming languages skills (Python, Matlab, or similar).
  • 5-year experience in a similar position with hands-on experience or exposure in either payload procurement, payload equipment manufacturing, or payload in-orbit operations in GEO and/or LEO.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English.
  • Highly collaborative individual, able to build relationships internally and externally across all levels and functions.
  • Capacity to deal with complex situations with assertiveness.
  • Ability to provide 24/7 on-call support during payload system testing.
  • Willingness to travel in Spain and/or internationally from time to time.
  • Technical background, including knowledge in geostationary communication payload architectures and functional operations, covering several of the following aspects:
    • RF equipment (passive and active), repeater and antenna subsystems.
    • Optical equipment.
    • Link budgets.
    • Repeater RF performance measurement.
    • Integration and testing: equipment, subsystem, and system levels.
    • Constellation design.
    • In Orbit testing.
    • Quality control essentials.
    • Competency in Digital Signal Processing (DSP), Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) technology, and active antenna.
    • Basic knowledge of satellite platform engineering principles.
