We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Energy Sustainability Ventures Associate to join our team at Plug and Play Tech Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for working alongside one of the largest fashion brands globally and accelerating their innovation journey.
Key Responsibilities- Energy Startup Analysis: Manage and analyze energy startups, executing analysis on all aspects of the company (team, market, technology, business model, etc.), and be the energy expert at all stages of the corporate innovation process from sourcing startups to analysis and advising on pilot projects.
- Renewable Energy Solutions: Analyze Seed to Series B stage startups in the renewable energy space that can be applied to the fashion industry.
- Technical Expertise: Develop an understanding of technical/deeptech energy innovations and work alongside other technical experts to analyze fundamental science.
- Reporting and Communication: Create summary reports to summarize energy technology, business models, and scalability for executive decision makers at our clients.
- Startup Coordination: Coordinate with energy startups to collect necessary sustainability and business information.
- Business Model Analysis: Understand business models, pricing, and unit economics to provide insights on economic feasibility and scalability.
- Partnership Development: Provide insights and advice to help our corporate partners build partnerships with energy startups.
- Due Diligence Management: Manage the due diligence process between internal teams, the startups, corporate venture, and external consultants in order to meet project deadlines.
- Client Relationship Management: Maintain relationships with industry partners.
- Client Alignment: Attend and lead regular alignment calls with corporate clients.
- Operational Support: Perform additional operational work for Plug and Play Ventures as needed.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Energy-related topics is required.
- Experience: 5 years of experience in the energy space or analyzing energy startups.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google Docs, MS Office, CRMs, project management tools, etc.
- Language Skills: Advanced or Fluent English speaking and writing skills is a must.
- Self-Motivation: Self-motivated and driven; proven to work independently, prioritize work, and achieve results.
- Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate with C-Suite executives.
- Collaboration: Collaborative, diplomatic, and can cross-functionally partner with stakeholders across multiple offices.
- Adaptability: Experience in/comfort with a role with a degree of ambiguity, requiring proactive analysis and action.
- Continuous Learning: Strong desire to learn continually and grow professionally, driven to master the products they're supporting/offering.
Plug and Play's global attendance policy: 3 days at the office, 2 days at home.
