We are seeking a highly skilled Researcher to join our IoT team at the i2CAT Foundation. As a Researcher in IoT and Ambient Intelligence, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of IoT solutions and prototypes, with a focus on ambient intelligence and enhanced positioning.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop SW/FW IoT prototypes
- Deploy experimental testbeds to validate prototypes in controlled and real conditions
- Develop tools and scripts to evaluate and monitor solutions
- Research in protocols, mechanisms, algorithms, and emergent applications/solutions for IoT
- Write technical documentation and project deliverables
- Collaborate with other researchers and engineers involved in the project
- Bachelor's or master's degree in telecommunications, electronics, or IT engineering
- Proven applied experience of at least 2 years in R&D or professional activities in at least two of the following topics: Artificial Intelligence applied to constrained devices, firmware programming, IoT communication technologies and protocols, hardware design of functional IoT prototypes, Linux embedded systems
- Proven experience in IoT prototyping and working with IoT development platforms and programming IDEs
- Proven experience in C/C++ and Python programming
- Capability to work autonomously, proactively, and to assume responsibilities
- Knowledge of IoT technologies and protocols (especially, UWB, WiFi HaLow, LPWAN, and VLC)
- Experience in the deployment of services and applications based on IoT sensors (e.g., ToF, Lidar, cameras, microphones)
- Experience in wireless sensing
- Applied knowledge of AI, NN, and ML
- Experience in computer vision (e.g., OpenCV)
- Interested in doing a PhD on IoT topics
- Experience in wireless analysis tools (wireshark, tcpdump, sniffers) and in laboratory equipment (e.g., oscilloscope, power analyser)
- Experience in data analysis tools (e.g., R)
- Previous participation in European or national R&D&I projects
