These positions are part of a Horizon Europe MSCA-Doctoral Network (DN) focused on advancing the field of biotechnology and systems analysis for the production of sustainable aviation fuels.
Research Projects
- DC1: SAF Intermediates Production from SCFAs - Investigate the production of SAF intermediates from short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) using yeast-based solutions.
- DC2: SAF Intermediates Production from Sugars - Develop yeast-based solutions for the production of SAF intermediates from sugars.
- DC3: CRISPR Platform for SAF Production in Y. lipolytica - Design and implement a CRISPR platform for the production of SAF in Y. lipolytica.
- DC4: Design of Improved SAF Blends using Synthetic Microbial Communities - Investigate the design of improved SAF blends using synthetic microbial communities.

Eligibility and Requirements
We are looking for highly motivated doctoral candidates with a background in biotechnology, systems analysis, or related fields. Applicants should have a strong academic record and a keen interest in contributing to sustainable aviation fuel research.
