About the Role:

Hitachi Rail is seeking a skilled Expert Maintenance Technician to join our team in Madrid, Spain. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our rolling stock.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and clear reporting of incidents, failures, or events that impact safety and/or service performance.
  • Identify corrective maintenance requirements and urgent fault reporting.
  • Implement daily maintenance activities on rolling stock according to priorities given by shift leaders and team leaders.
  • Download logs and dump files from on-site equipment and provide first-level analysis.
  • Troubleshoot activities to identify faults and/or critical failures, providing rectifications and producing related documentation.
  • Execute health check procedures before vehicles are put into service.
  • Implement identified rolling stock and first-line response maintenance safety standards.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in railway equipment and environment.
  • Testing and fault-finding skills.
  • Incident/accident investigation skills.
  • Maintenance skills.
  • Organizational effectiveness skills.
  • Railway systems technologies: at least one of the following systems: pneumatic, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, electronic, and control systems.
  • Use of maintenance tools.
  • Railway safety rules and regulations.
  • Carnet de conducir.

Desired Skills:

  • Fluent Spanish.
  • Knowledge of English and/or Italian.
