Work Culture
Our global remote team consists of 70 members supporting over 8,000 creators and more than 700,000 end-users worldwide. You will be part of the Monetization team, collaborating with a Product Manager, three developers, and QA specialists. We prioritize open communication, creativity, and results-driven outcomes. You will utilize technologies such as Ruby, TypeScript, REST API architecture, and more to accomplish your objectives.
Your First Year Goals
In your initial year, you will tackle various exciting challenges and opportunities. You will collaborate closely with our existing Ruby developer to facilitate the transition of Ruby services to TypeScript. Within 6-12 months, you will significantly contribute to this migration, taking ownership of the new TypeScript services. As a vital member of the Monetization team, you will develop new features related to payments, subscriptions, and the new Admin App, directly enhancing our customer experience. Your responsibilities will include creating a seamless, multi-platform solution (Web, iOS, Android) and ensuring a bug-free product by prioritizing critical issues.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Throughout your first year, you will be expected to meet several key performance indicators. You will successfully migrate existing Ruby services to TypeScript within 6-12 months, ensuring that the new services are robust and scalable. You will also design and implement new features for our Monetization team, directly influencing customer satisfaction and experience. Your success will be measured by user feedback and the adoption rates of new features.
Moreover, you will cultivate an environment that encourages fearless development, allowing new features to be created without the fear of disrupting existing functionality. Achieving this will require you to design the product from high-level concepts to detailed implementations, ensuring a clean and maintainable codebase.
Challenges Ahead
The transition from Ruby to TypeScript will present a significant challenge, necessitating a comprehensive understanding of both languages and their respective ecosystems. You will need to balance the maintenance of existing functionalities while innovating and enhancing processes. To succeed, a solid understanding and experience with backend technologies, including strong SQL (NoSQL is a plus) and REST API architecture, will be essential. Working within a remote, international team will require excellent communication and collaboration skills to navigate time zones and cultural differences.
