We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant (m/f/d) to join our team in Madrid. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing all accounting transactions, ensuring compliance with Spanish accounting and legislative standards. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining a clean ledger with minimal overdue balances and bad debt risk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all accounting transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Maintain the Sales Ledger, ensuring cash is collected promptly and issues are proactively resolved.
  • Manage the Accounts Payable function, including purchase orders, overheads, and expenses.
  • Maintain the Accounts Receivable database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Own payment collection and reporting to credit insurance companies.
  • Ensure 4-eye principles and timely bank payments, bank postings, and regular reconciliations, as well as balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Identify month-end accruals and prepayments, and prepare and submit regular tax returns (VAT, SII, withholding taxes).
  • Ensure cash is properly managed via cash flow forecasts and monitoring, and carry out General Ledger postings.

Requirements:

  • Degree in accounting or a related field with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a finance environment.
  • Profound knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, and Bookkeeping, as well as strong Spanish Taxation skills.
  • Strong relationship builder, collaborator, and supporter for other functions.
  • Enjoys working in a team environment, good communicator, and positive influencer.
  • Self-starter, comfortable managing own time and workload.
  • SAP and strong Excel knowledge.
  • Fluent Spanish and English language skills.
  • Willing to travel to our HQ in Germany.
