About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). The successful candidate will be part of our Computational Social Sciences Department and will work on a project focused on the impact of digital media use on political attitudes, cognitions, and behaviors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct original research on the impact of digital media use on political attitudes, cognitions, and behaviors.
  • Coordinate and assist in data collection and analysis.
  • Guide other team members in applying computational methods to their grants proposals and research papers.
  • Lead in writing grant proposal applications and co-authorship and lead authorship of research papers.
  • Assist in team coordination and PhD supervision.
  • Communicate project results in conferences and workshops.
  • Organize expert workshops, conferences, and seminars.
Requirements
  • PhD in the social sciences or computational (social) science.
  • Experience in quantitative empirical analysis and computational methods, familiarity with online experiments, machine learning, and text analysis, network analysis, and agent-based modeling.
  • Some experience in collecting online behavioral data.
  • Some experience in analyzing and integrating large datasets from diverse sources.
  • Programming skills and eagerness to work in multiple languages.
  • Interest in researching social media use and public opinion.
  • Willingness to move to Barcelona and eagerness to travel internationally.
