Agoda is seeking a highly skilled International Tax Manager to join our Finance Team in Barcelona, Spain. As a key member of our Americas Tax Advisory Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring efficient and compliant tax outcomes for the Agoda Group of Companies.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in international tax planning initiatives and special projects, including assessment of tax positions and interpretations of our business models.
- Keep up with new tax developments and ensure compliance with local rules and regulations, driving and implementing changes required due to changes in tax legislation.
- Project coordination responsibilities, including support for key business initiatives and review of business agreements and contracts involving cross-border transactions.
- Liaise with external advisors for direct and indirect tax matters, handle tax audits/queries/investigations/litigations with local tax authorities, and contribute to tax awareness and appreciation within the Agoda Group.
- Support on various ad hoc advisory matters, including modeling for financial impact of taxes and developing and maintaining partnerships with cross-functional teams within Agoda.
- Degree in law or accounting – Chartered Accountant (or equivalent) or graduate degree in taxation preferred.
- 6 to 8 years of international tax experience (on both direct and indirect taxes) in Big 4 public accounting / top law firm / multinational corporation.
- E-commerce or travel industry experience a plus, with strong knowledge of international tax laws, both direct and indirect taxes.
- Project management expertise, including strong organizational and change management skills, ability to work independently and productively, and adapt to work in different time zones.
- Strategic thinker with solid business instincts and acumen, self-motivated and results-oriented professional, and team player with a professional 'get it done' attitude and work ethic.
