Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Software Development Professional to join our team as an Engineering Specialist. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in designing and developing engaging and interconnected system solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop software solutions using a variety of programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand existing product designs and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop a deep understanding of how multiple systems interoperate and the business problems they solve.
  • Follow established software development life cycle (SDLC) processes, including agile-based methodologies, peer code reviews, and technical preparations for scheduled releases.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Fix defects, develop new features, and enhance existing functionality with supervision.
  • Write basic tests of small scope and complexity.
  • Contribute to API documentation and participate in peer code reviews.
  • Seek mentorship and take constructive feedback from peers.
  • Learn how to make knowledge base contributions and stay up-to-date with industry jargon and business concepts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent years of experience.
  • Broad knowledge of Computer Science concepts.
  • 2+ years of software development experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years' professional experience in Java development.
  • Experience working in OS X and Linux environments, Spring, AWS, Microservices, SQL, NoSQL, GIT, and agile application development lifecycle.
  • Experience designing and building JSON or REST services, working with 3rd party APIs, AWS APIs, Docker or other containers, large-scale or distributed web applications, Test Driven Development, and functional testing.
  • Familiarity with the full stack of web development and a proven history of web application development.
  • Understanding of secure application programming practices and vulnerabilities.
  • Strong understanding and practical experience with common design patterns.
  • Ability to solve business problems through creative and forward-looking solutions.
  • Ability to write clear, concise documentation.
