We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Instrument Equipment Technician to join our team at Touro Infirmary. As an Instrument Equipment Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care by maintaining and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment.
Your Key Responsibilities:- Identify and process surgical instrumentation, equipment, and supplies for proper cleaning, sterilization, and storage.
- Demonstrate knowledge of applicable sanitary, infection control, and safety standards to perform all assignments within the safety parameters.
- Operate sterilization equipment, decontaminate, assemble, and wrap instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with hospital-established policies, quality assurance, safety, and infection control policies and practices.
- Assess and maintain equipment and instruments needed for all departments, ensuring all supplies are available and in working condition.
- Replace or repair instruments or equipment that are not working.
- Follow proper standard precautions while in decontamination and sterilization areas.
- Process endoscopes, scopes, and/or probes.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent OR 2 years of work experience in equipment sterilization or Instrument or Operating Room Aide or Tech.
