Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Host/Hostess to be a key member of our pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona. In collaboration with the Director of Food & Beverage and the Food & Beverage Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in leading the hostess team to ensure an exceptional first impression for all guests entering the venue. Your responsibilities will include managing the flow of patrons, coordinating large parties and events, and guaranteeing a seamless guest experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist management in overseeing the host team.
  • Provide consistent training and support to the hostess team.
  • Evaluate service standards and implement corrective measures as necessary.
  • Warmly greet guests, escort them to their tables, and assist with menu presentation.
  • Facilitate hosting for large parties as scheduled.
  • Ensure the ambiance is suitable, including music, lighting, and temperature.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized reception area.
  • Engage with guests to gather information for seating and bar arrangements.
  • Continuously provide accurate information regarding the venue and entertainment options.
  • Confirm reservations and manage daily email inquiries promptly.
Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • A degree focused on Hospitality or Restaurant Management.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospitality role within high-volume food and beverage environments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hotel food and beverage operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • The ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced setting with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in both Spanish and English.
  • A positive demeanor that uplifts team members, guests, and colleagues.
  • Strong leadership qualities, capable of inspiring and managing a team effectively.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills, with a passion for collaborative achievements.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
