Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled R&D Data Scientist to join our Aviation department in Madrid. The successful candidate will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to investigate the future role of unmanned aerial vehicles in urban and regional mobility.
Key Responsibilities:- Investigate the future role of unmanned aerial vehicles in urban and regional mobility.
- Develop methodologies and tools for the safe and efficient operation of drones in urban environments.
- Evaluate new operational concepts through traffic simulations.
- Develop innovative data products and decision support solutions for the IAM market.
- Produce research papers and present Nommon's research work at scientific conferences and internal seminars.
- MSc/PhD in a relevant scientific field (Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, etc.), preferably with background in Air Transport or Aerospace Engineering.
- Outstanding academic record.
- Strong mathematical and statistical background.
- Strong algorithmic, programming and computational problem solving skills.
- Excellent English and Spanish oral and written communication skills.
- Experience/knowledge in air traffic management and flight operations.
- Experience/knowledge in UTM and U-Space.
- Experience/knowledge in statistical analysis and machine learning.
- Experience/knowledge in development and/or use of computational simulation tools.
- Experience in multidisciplinary, collaborative research projects.
- Flexible working hours and possibility to work remotely up to two days per week.
- Nice, well-located office in the centre of Madrid.
