Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join our central Machine Learning Engineering team. As a key member of our sennder AI department, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of road logistics services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and implement cutting-edge machine learning engineering practices to drive innovation in road logistics services
  • Apply data science concepts to solve complex problems such as pricing optimization, load-to-carrier recommendation, and logistics network optimization
  • Mentor junior to senior engineers to ensure successful and impactful software deliveries
  • Design and develop health and performance monitoring tools for data pipelines and machine learning services in production
  • Lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide on available technologies
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices
  • Lead cross-team alignment efforts on technical dependency finding and matching, cross-domain architectural design, and artificial intelligence-related topics
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in deploying and maintaining in-production data pipelines working at scale, fueled by machine learning models
  • Above-average Python software engineering skills, including best practices like CI/CD and Git
  • 2+ years of experience with modern MLOps setups
  • Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Large experience with Agile philosophies and project management tools
  • Solid understanding of machine learning product lifecycle and associated components (MLOps)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Deep knowledge of machine learning theory and expertise in applying it to real-world problems
  • Experience with MLOps stack, including BentoML, Weights & Biases, Ray, and Flyte
  • PhD in Machine Learning and/or data mining fundamental topics and/or non-trivial applications of ML/DM foundations
  • Top-tier academic track on ML-related conferences
