We are seeking a highly skilled Researcher in Computational Social Science to join our team at Centre Tecnologic De Catalunya. As a key member of our Big Data Analytics department, you will be responsible for conducting innovative research in the field of computational social science and complex systems.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement technological solutions to analyze and model social data.
- Develop tools for collecting, analyzing, and modeling social data, including models that characterize social phenomena and their cascade effects.
- Investigate and implement new algorithms and approaches to solving AI problems, such as Natural Language Processing, Graph Neural Networks, and Knowledge Graph.
- Seek funding opportunities and participate in drafting proposals for EU-funded projects.
- Lead consortium projects or represent your area of expertise in work packages within a bigger project and coordinate with other stakeholders.
- Lead scientific papers, publish research results, and present them at academic and industrial conferences.
- Report and disseminate project results to various audiences.
- Collaborate with researchers from various disciplines, such as cognitive and behavioral science, computer vision, journalism, and citizen science.
- Hold a PhD in computer science, physics, mathematics, engineering, or related disciplines.
- Have proven knowledge of artificial intelligence and complex systems, particularly in computational social science methods.
- Have previous experience using libraries for data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and deep learning.
- Have previous experience with cloud-based services and containerization ecosystems.
- Have excellent programming skills in Python and experience with version control.
- Have previous experience in preparing proposals and participating in R&D consortium projects.
- Have time management skills and be an organized person.
- Be able to work in a multidisciplinary team and in an autonomous way.
- Communicate and document results in a comprehensible and professional way.
- Be self-motivated and passionate about projects, with a strong sense of curiosity and experimentation.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are required.
